VermontFirst Sign

Randy Weiss took a brake from his perpetual search for mathematically significant roadsigns in Massachussets to bring Vermont to the game for the first time. This is Randy’s 5th new state/gold star. This ties him with the founder of Road Sign Math and David Slaeunwhite for the most states introduced. Well done Randy!

The key to this sign is the 132. This appears on all the multiplcations tables we studied in 3rd grade — that elusive 12 times 11.

(14 - 2) \times (10 + 1) = 132

This sign is found along I-89 eastbound just east of the Vermont, New Hampshire border. The GPS coordinates are approximately N43 46 03.9 W72 26 45.0. See sign on map!
