Just south of Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area (really, that’s what it’s called!), in the Ashley National Forest, comes a small and humble tribute to mathematically significant roadsigns. It’s unclear what the orange trail marker on the sign is designating. Randy Weiss brings us this Utah sign.

There is only so much you can say about square roots. They seem to have overtaken Road Sign Math! One would have never guessed how many square root signs there are out there. They are perfectly valid winners, nevermind their popularity.

\sqrt{4} = 2

This sign is found just off the road on US-191 heading south in Utah. The GPS coordinates are approximately N40 46 52.3 W109 28 13.7. See sign on map!
