New Jersey

Put two up for New Jersey on it’s first showing at Road Sign Math. Jamie Thingelstad found this second sign just down the road from Garden State. You may be tempted to think that Brunswick pool tables came from this region, but alas they are not.

The math on this sign uses a dirty little trick, effectively cancelling out the 1, but it is very much valid!

9 \times 2 \times 1 = 18

This sign is on the New Jersey turnpike headed southbound past Newark. The GPS coordinates are approximately N40 30 22.3 W74 22 34.3. See sign on map!

Use that one by arranging it as a proportion!

    18/2 = 9/1

    Or,

    (9×2)/18=1
