FloridaFirst Sign

Gene Kruckemyer, newcomer to Road Sign Math, brings us the first sign from the Sunshine state, Florida. Actually, he brings us another first in mathematically significant signs. Two, mathematically significant signs right next to each other, yet fully independent. A true “twofer”! This is a mathematical onslaught that could cause accidents while people are stupified at the relationships.

These are independent signs and as such the math for each must be self-contained. It works out smooth as silk.

4 + 9 = 13

1 + 1 = \sqrt{4}

This sign is found on in Sanford, Florida on I-4 heading westbound at the exit for state road 46. The GPS coordinates are approximately N28 48 48.9 W81 20 14.5. See sign on map!

Ed.: This sign marks the 100th mathematically significant roadsign, and brings Florida into the game as the 26th state!

    Wow! This is truly a unique find! This is only 5 minutes from my home, and I never knew it was there.

    This definitely deserves the Blue Ribbon award for its uniqueness and originality. It truly personifies the "driving + math = fun" mantra.

    Cary
