California

Roger Knowles narrowly misses a First in State gold star for California with this posting from the top of Sonora’s Pass. There are few signs that bring gradients in, and none that have done to this extreme. Clearly this road, like so many in California, is essentially made for people that are looking to go out and have a fun drive!

The math here is very straightforward, but would probably be missed by all but the most detailed of math afficianados.

25 + 1 = 26

This sign is found in California on Highway 108, Sonoras Pass, heading eastbound. The GPS coordinates are approximately N38 20 11.5 W119 38 48.4. See sign on map!

This does not seem right. 26% is 0.26 not 26.

Does anybody else feel the same?

Interesting observation Whiner! I hadn’t considered that. I would be curious to see what other people feel. This is the first roadsign submission that used a number followed by a % sign.

If we are only allowed to use numbers then the % would not matter.
