Arizona

Gerald Thurman brings us this very, very blue sign from downtown Phoenix, Arizona.

This sign has to avoid the tautology rule in it’s solution. Technically, any sign that has any number of pairs of numbers, with no extra numbers, can be made to work.

17 + 10 - 17 = 10

This sign is found at the intersection of 3rd Street and Grant St. The GPS coordinates are approximately N33 26 28.4 W112 04 11.2. See sign on map!

And is that a sign goof, too, as a bonus? TO SOUTH I-10.

Although the sign for SOUTH I-10 is a misprint, I-10 does actually run North South in Arizona between Phoenix and Tucson.

    I think it’s even more elegant using vector notation: -17i -10i + 17i + 17i = 0, where i is a generic unit vector. :)
