Drexel Highlights Road Sign Math

May 7th, 2005 · No Comments

Drexel University this week highlighted the newest driving game to sweep the country in the May 9th edition of the Math Forum newsletter. This notable publication is in it’s 10th year and has focused on a number of topics ranging from great scientific discoveries to humorous anecdotes. Clearly the coverage of Road Sign Math is closer to the former than the later.

It seems only appropriate that Drexel University, founded in 1891, should highlight a great activity like finding mathematically significant road signs. Drexel has taught many mathematicians and scientists through the years. In fact, Paul Baran, a founding father of the Internet itself, went to Drexel. I await a flood of sign submissions from the Philadelphia area. Students, start your engines and don’t forget your camera!
