The math here is pretty obvious.

\sqrt{81} = 9

It has been a long time since we had a new state on Road Sign Math, but finally the streak is broken. However, it’s been even longer since H.B. Elkins has brought a mathematically significant sign. H.B. hold the honor of being the first person (outside of the founder of the game) to ever post a sign on the site. Nine, Is A Magic Number was Mr. Elkins first winner.
