Sign Found on Titan!

April 1st, 2005 · No Comments

The Cassini-Huygens mission today beamed back an amazing photo from the surface of Titan. Previous images showed orange rock covered in sulfur and a seemingly uninhabitable atmosphere. Today however this road sign of mathematical significance was found!

Oddly this sign shows it’s measurements in miles (verified after further analysis) which surprised scientists since we had always assumed alien life would use something more similar to metric measurements. The mathematic significance here is a constant, the speed of light!

{4,416 \over 821,469,000} = 186,000

The mathematical connections here have scientists puzzled and will result in years of analysis, not to mention questions about how this sign ended up on Titan!

Happy April Fools!
