After careful deliberation, Road Sign Math will no longer accept signs that use the modulo function. This was not an easy decision, but the consensus of many was that the use of modulo generally led to signs that were less elegant, potentially violated some of the math rules of the game and in general contributed to the moral decay of America. All previously submitted winners that used the modulo function will be grandfathered under the previous rules, and are still fully valid winners.

The primary reason for dropping modulo was a result of an incongruity in the rules. It was decided that if modulo were to be accepted, then integer division must also be accepted. Integer division was clearly not appropriate, so as a result, modulo must go as well.

We’ve had amazing sign submissions from so many places, we now have signs from 11 states and 2 foreign countries! Keep up the great finds. And always remember…
