The newest release of the most excellent Firefox browser was just made available, version 1.5.0.1. This release introduces a crash condition when loading the fabulous jsMath library that Road Sign Math uses to display formulas and equations. This bug has been reported to the Firefox team and hopefully they will fix it soon.
In the meantime we recommend that Road Sign Math fans do not upgrade to the new release until this issue is either resolved or a work around is provided in jsMath. I’ve notified the author and it is possible he will be able to provide a fix.
Note that Firefox 1.5 works perfectly well with Road Sign Math and jsMath.
UPDATE (2/2/06 @ 6:51pm CT)
We got a workaround from the author of jsMath that stops this crash behavior. You can now feel free to use the newest release. The Firefox team is still investigating the bug, but has confirmed it.
